Hamilton village residents, ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ community members, and honored guests are reintroducing themselves to an old friend this week. The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Inn, closed for renovations since November 2010, is now open for business.

High school students have a lot to mull over as they consider which college or university might be the best fit. One factor is what major to pursue and what opportunities that major might provide after graduation. A new website tries to provide some answers to those questions for students looking at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½.

Howard Fineman ’70, renowned political reporter, editor, author, and commentator whose pioneering career spans traditional and new media, will deliver the keynote address at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½â€™s 190th commencement on Sunday, May 15, in Sanford Field House.

Manning Marable, a prolific author and founding director of the Africana and Latin American Studies Program at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½, died Friday at age 60. He had taught in ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½â€™s Department of Sociology and Anthropology, starting in 1983, after having earned degrees from Earlham College (BA), the University of Wisconsin (MA), and the University of Maryland (PhD).

The cupola of Memorial Chapel was illuminated with blue lights as part of the university’s efforts to support autism awareness over the weekend (April 1-2). The university took part in the Light it up Blue campaign initiated by Autism Speaks. Read more about it here.

School is in the final stretch and I am quite excited! This week has been busy per usual, but I am feeling great about the weekend. For one, I had a mix-and-mingle with the Chinese Interest Association on Tuesday concerning the trip that I will be making to China with the Benton Scholars Program.
